Staverton, Wiltshire : ウィキペディア英語版 | Staverton, Wiltshire Staverton is a village and civil parish in the English county of Wiltshire. Staverton is near the confluence of the River Avon and the River Biss and is on the south bank of the former; to the south of the village is the Kennet and Avon Canal and a marina serves the canal communities. Staverton lies some north of the county town of Trowbridge and the same distance east of Bradford-on-Avon. Administratively, Staverton forms part of the Wiltshire Council area. In the early 21st century houses and apartments were built around the marina area, and the village is gradually becoming contiguous with neighbouring Trowbridge. The population of the parish increased from 453 at the 2001 census to 1,868 in 2011. Staverton Church of England Primary School was opened in 1996, replacing an 1880 National School building which is now used by an independent school.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://emmaus-school.org.uk/ )〕 Staverton School can accommodate 310 pupils aged between 4 and 11. Over the centuries the mill has been used for corn and for fulling woollen cloth; later the site became a rubber factory belonging to Stephen Moulton. it is the location of a Nestlé breakfast cereal factory, operated by subsidiary Cereal Partners UK (CPUK). The large, landmark chimney at the factory was removed in November 2011.
